sunset yesterday in Qingdao, as seen from the turret of the Granite Castle in Badaguan, a park-like area with many mansions. the castle was built around 1930. all of the exposed walls are made of granite. it originally was a Russian aristocrat's home. when the republic was created, the building was used as a reception building. Chiang Kai-Shek and his wife lived in it for a while.
