Solitary Bird - jazz CD release

i went last night to the concert releasing  the album “Solitary Bird”, performed by Coco Zhao, Steve Sweeting, and Jeremy Moyer, at Two Cities gallery. these are Chinese folk songs combined with jazz. it was great.

the talented Coco is a singer, songwriter and lyricist.

The beautiful Yue Yan taught Steve Sweeting many of these beautiful Chinese folk songs, which he has combined with Jazz. Jeremy Moyer accompanied with various Chinese traditional banjos and provided percussion. The CD is available on iTunes.

during the party afterwards i caught up with some of my fellow architect friends and other nice friends of Steve and his wife Kate, my former colleague. i made new friends who are working with developers and met the editor for architectural digest magazine's China edition. i have read that magazine a lot throughout my life.

Man, that sounds really awesome. Is the album name a play on Charlie Parker's "Bird" moniker?

thanks, YogaDawg, it was awsome. the CD is available on iTunes. I updated the post. the title of the CD is from one of the folk songs, a Taiwan tune that people who were unfairly imprisoned in Taiwan would sing at a high pitch so that their families would know they where OK from within the walls of their prison. it's been passed down from generation to generation through an oral tradition.
