Journey to Tibet by bike, Part I

This is the story of the trip of my friends TangLiang and his wife XuYe, who bicycled from Chengdu to Llasa, Tibet, a trip that took them about nine weeks to complete. These set of pictures tell the story from the point of view of the bicycle. It's meant to be a visual diary and because of the number of pictures, it's in two parts. Following this set will be panoramic photos they took. I will accompany those with descriptions of their day to day experiences - how they planned each day, what hardships and joys they experienced. On the first day of their trip, they found that all of the things they brought weighed too much and sent a lot back home through the mail. The markers along one particular road told them how many kilometers they were away from People's Square in their home, Shanghai.
