shala poses sandwich

This time of not practicing in the shala a few days in a row, because I was not feeling so good have made me reflect. Would I be the perfect disciple in the shala if I went only on Sunday, started with Primary absolutely without any warm up poses and continued with the asanas, avoiding any extra preparations for poses, then did the few of Intermediate that I am allowed? To the uninitated, I would appear to be practicing correctly. The remainder of the week I could practice at home, working on any of the poses I would like to work on. I could do what I used to do, which is to work on the poses from the three series, putting a running series of poses in between standing and closing asanas. Wherever I stopped one day in the middle I would continue the next day with the next series of poses. This is what I did for years in California, where I did a LOT of yoga. I could appear like a saintly complying ashtangi at the shala, and like a liberal yogi in my place. Just a thought. My teachers are very kind but I'm wondering if my shala experiences lately have stressed me out and I would be healthier with my own home practice. It does not seem that in the coming years in the shala room I would be given any poses because those I do are not perfected yet and I have not come to standing on my own from Urdva Danurasana. Overeager bycicle-pedaling earlier in the year stressed my left leg. For many months I have not been able to bind on the left side of half lotus asanas. My practice shows a lot of imperfection in a shala scene so I'm kept to a certain level and not allowed to move beyond to other asanas that would be good for the body.
