glitch corner cooling
I went to the shala. Bamboo Knight had read my email explaining what was going on with me last week. He suggested I start slowly again building my strength. I did Primary OK without a glitch. Well, except that I have to accept that I can't put my hands through in Garba Pindasana or bind on the left side on half lotus poses. Lady 'Smores practiced next to me, Woo Boopydo across from me. In the corner, Discalced Carmelite extended her foot way up in the air without resistance in Uthita Hasta Padangustasana. Sandee D'Oranje sprayed herself with water to get her hands through in Garba Pindasana; I was the side beneficiary of the dousing. It issued evaporative cooling. I wonder when I'm going to come up to standing from Urdva Danurasana. There is a lot of internal investigation on the kinesthetics of this pose going on, a la Globie and his teacher Carey. The newbies are no longer newbies and those of us practicing longer feel like part of the furniture.

Arturo,
I normally can 'guess' as to why you give certain names to your yoga friends, but ..."In the corner, Discalced Carmelite extended her foot..." has me still guessing. I just can't imagine a barefoot (or sandled) nun doing yoga. Maybe she is 'secular'.

Dear Ralph
Ha ha; my names don't make much sense but I go for a name that makes me giggle. You're right that yoga has not yet reached cloistered nuns. Buddhist nuns and priests do yoga and yoga is sometimes taught in catholic parishes, but probably has not infiltrated the sects adhering to ancient practices without much change. I should rename her Carmelita Discalced. I only wrote in admiration that she is one of these people that anatomically the muscles in their legs do not give them resistance in doing splits, whether in mid air or in the ground. She had her foot up to the front of her face without effort - and that is a pose from third series, beyond the scope of UHP.
Boopydo, across from me, has a hair style similar to a cartoon by that name.
Cheers,
Arturo
