Yesterday there was an inter-company soccer match. There were two teams from two offices of our company. We were asked to show up to cheer. In the morning, I was one of five in the audience in a huge stadium. I had other things to do in the afternoon, so I did not watch the afternoon games. More people showed up then and I hear that one of our teams won the final rounds.

The Buddhist way of getting rid of a roach - I feel proud of myself, or at least I feel better about having done this. We've been plagued with big, humongous roaches. These are bigger than Palmetto Bugs, the euphemism used in South Florida for the huge roaches found there. The three of us flatmates where dealing with an ugly one last night. "Kill it!", screamed one. I said I would not kill it. I did that last time at her insistence and felt bad. "Spray it!" said the other. OK, I did spray it a bit, which disoriented the bug a little. When it reached the floor, I put a cup over it. While it was trapped, I placed a piece of paper under the cup, then a series of more papers under those. Then I opened the window and let the bug out. I felt much better. I noticed this morning that the bug died in the ledge of an airconditioning unit, but at least I didn't squash it. I offered to buy a new cup for the flatmate.
