I was walking along quiet paths of ancient camphor trees in the south east part of Kyoto when I found Shoren-In Temple. This was known as Awata Imperial Palace at one time. It was originally built as dormitories for priests on Mt. Hiei by the founder of the Tendai sect of Buddhism, Denkyo Daishi. The temple became a place where an imperial family member assumed the priesthood.

I hope you're enjoying Kyoto, such a beautiful place!
Thought that room with the 'Yoga mat' looked familiar when you posted it last week, I remember the garden now. Made me very homesick Arturo. We plan on going back to visit family in April.
Wonderful pictures as ever, thanks for going to all the trouble to share them with us.
Dear Clare
Thanks, it was a few weeks ago. It takes me a long time to prepare the photos and accompanying text.
Dear Grimmly
You're welcome. I managed to post pictures from my first morning's jaunts. I have more to post, as time allows. The problem is time, since now I must study my Chinese before going to sleep.
Cheers,
Arturo
exquisite!
Dear KT,
Thanks. The light was in my favor when I was there in the early morning; great for photography.
Cheers,
Arturo
