meditative solar eclipse

i started practice this morning with difficulty and a distracted mind. but reading (0v0)'s latest post last night reminded me that ashtanga is a meditative practice. so i closed the eyes halfway, which i would do if i were in seated meditation. immediately, the attention shifted inwards to the breath. the body did the movements and i sort of observed that it was moving, but my concentration was on the breath and on keeping the same gaze. the yoga flowed much better. in fact there was no discontinuity in the flow. i'm glad she reminded me of that.

my tadasana and upward dog were as good as yoga dawg's lawnchair yoga poses, as was shoulder stand, from Yoga Dawg's lawn chair core poses.

this wednesday the solar eclipse will pass through Shanghai in the morning. woo hoo. the moon will pass in front of the sun and be seen in three main cities in China along the path, around 9:35am. the duration of the full eclipse will be about 6 minutes and could lead to full darkness during that time. however, the weather is forecast to be rainy then, so it may not be possible to photograph it.

I saw that you disable comments on your Fitness Magazine entry. Why so defensive about it? I forgot to mention that they asked me to plug them in my blog too...probably many got asked. I was just curious why you agreed.

At least they asked, Arturo. I hate the ones who try to leave a comment that is really just an Ad for their site.

Thanks for the Lawn chair link, love it, still giggling about it.

hi YC
i turned off the comments because i could not delete the comment by the pusher of the corn site, as i mentioned in a comment in the post after it.

why did i decide to post it? in order to see if i could learn something from doing so. i did learn how to do a link in html.

i thought the request was written with genuine sincerity. i have had requests that are written in a flippant way that also sounds insincere. i realize they are a commercial site and are looking for eyeballs to their site. i figured is someone finds them and learns something useful, that is a good thing.

i have been reading that there needs to be some disclosure with respect to plugs made in blogs. some popular bloggers will gush about a family entertainment park they visited or fabulous hotel destination and not disclose that they were paid by the place they wrote about to mention it in their blogs.

hugs
Arturo

hi Grimmly
yes, i agree, at least they asked.

YogaDawg is so funny and creative. he's updated the format of his blog too. just the statement, "hey you, get off the chair so that it can do yoga" is a hoot. i wonder how his chairs are going to do revolving triangle.

cheers,
Arturo
